Poem of the Year Life & Dreams

December 2002
Time

Turn a deaf ear to the cuckoo’s call when you’re having fun

Because Time is mysterious

Though roses don’t last forever, radish roses take forever to bloom…

In time for dinner,

Why watch grains trickle down the neck of an hourglass,

When you can feel it between your toes at the beach and

Taste it in your sandwich.

Don’t listen to the tick-tock in your brain too often

Experience and find pleasure in life before

Your watch breaks
